Warmest greetings and thank you very much for your support to our project providing food security and sanitation in Mindanao. In previous reports, we have focused our work in sanitation like providing latrines for poor families as well as developing water systems in far-flung areas. Our sanitation initiatives have been paused due to the Covid-19 problem and because food security has taken center stage in our work, being the most needed by the villages we are working with. This reporting period, we have shifted our effort to also include sanitation especially the building of toilets for very poor families in order to prevent the spread of diseases in the area. We champion water-based toilets as well as what we call "tree toilet" or one that do not require water and wherein when the pit is full, the farmer will be able to plant in or near it fruit or timber tree. We have started producing toilet bowls which is very much needed during this reporting period. Of course, this work is integrated to our food security initiatives which is on-going.
